
Washington, DC – The National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) is proud to announce its 2025 Awards Ceremony, “A Night of Unity, a Future of Action,” which will takes place on December 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. EST via Facebook Live. Uniting guests whose remarkable contributions strengthen society, NHCOA will honor recent achievements and inspire future progress, all in one evening filled with dynamic performances.
“A Night of Unity, a Future of Action,” advances NHCOA’s tradition of honoring leaders who improve the lives of Latinos, while focusing on the work ahead. At a moment when public discourse often fuels division, NHCOA underscores the enduring power of unity. The diversity within the Latino Community is a position of strength across cultures and identities. By elevating voices of progress, NHCOA issues a call to action: let the year ahead be defined by bold ambition, fortitude, and progress in the name of unity, kindness and acceptance.
This year’s honorees include:
- Dr. Yakeel Quiroz – Research Recognition Award: For her outstanding research into early biomarkers and cognitive change in Alzheimer’s disease across diverse populations.
- Dr. Amelie Ramirez – Lifetime Achievement Award: For her dedication to advancing Latino health equity through groundbreaking research, leadership, and advocacy.
- Marcus R. Escobedo – President’s Award: For his leadership in philanthropy and nonprofit work elevating the voices of all older adults and caregivers.
- Congressman Ritchie Torres – Outstanding Public Policy Award: For his exemplary service to the 15th District of New York.
- Dr. Ray Serrano – Outstanding Public Health Award: For his vision and commitment to shaping research and policy that drives lasting, systemic change in the name of Latino advocacy.
- Edna Kane-Williams – Outstanding Community Service Award: For her tireless efforts to promote multicultural engagement, age equity, and the fair representation of diverse voices across all communities.
- Congressman Juan Ciscomani – Rising Star Award: For the powerful voice he has lent to equitable opportunity and social justice in U.S. policy, amidst his meteoric rise to Congress.
