NHCOA is one of three national Hispanic/Latino partners of the CDC’s Act Against AIDS Leadership Initiative (AAALI), a multi-year national communication initiative to reduce the incidence of HIV/AIDS among diverse communities. To learn how you can get involved in the fight against HIV, please join www.actagainstaids.org.

In exactly two weeks it will be National HIV Testing Day, and as a proud partner of CDC’s Act Against AIDS Leadership Initiative (AAALI), we are encouraging Hispanic older adults, their families, and caregivers to “Take the Test, Take Control.”

Here are some ways to take control today and work toward an AIDS-free generation:

  1. Find the nearest testing location near you. Input your city or ZIP code into locator.aids.gov on your web browser, mobile phone, or Facebook. You can also text your five-digit ZIP code to 36363 to find the closest free HIV testing center.
  2. Get tested for HIV.
  3. Know your HIV status.
  4. Encourage your friends and loved ones to get tested as well.
