The event will be developed on Thursday, December 8th and Friday, December 9th; both days starting at 6:00 pm (EST) via Facebook Live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">This year\u2019s theme was inspired by the results of the 2022 research work and focus groups NHCOA held all over the U.S., in which the countless injustices that many members of our community face regarding health equity, were highlighted. We are paying homage to our community&#8217;s resilience but also&nbsp; we are honoring a group of trailblazers who are helping and addressing health inequities, empowering women to age in their best health, and providing housing for older adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">The Ceremony will celebrate outstanding individuals in more than 9 unique categories, honoring the work of different fields such as research, community service, entrepreneurship and caregiving. This year, NHCOA is proud to present its <strong>Outstanding Public Policy Award<\/strong> to one of the nation\u2019s most fearless and exceptional leaders, <strong>Congressman John B. Larson.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-black-color has-text-color is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" style=\"font-size:15px\"><p>Dr. Yanira Cruz, President and CEO of NHCOA, states <em>\u201cwe are delighted to honor and celebrate Chairman Larson\u2019s contributions to protecting the wellbeing of seniors. His commitment to protecting and strengthening Social Security is commendable, and we are grateful to him for ensuring the economic security of so many in our country\u201d<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">Congressman Larson not only has worked tirelessly for Social Security but also has been an advocate for important acts, focusing its latest work on COVID-19 relief plans, veterans well being and lowering healthcare costs for families and older adults, among other pressing issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-black-color has-text-color is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" style=\"font-size:15px\"><p>\u201c<em>Thank you to the National Hispanic Council on Aging for this honor.
