Active since 2020, the <strong>Resource Center<\/strong> is a <strong>multilingual hub that educates and empowers the Hispanic\/Latino community with accurate information and resources to help them stay healthy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-852b5ce009277061d37dfcf827bf474a wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">The Resource Center began with a clear objective to provide accurate information and resources on COVID-19, but has quickly expanded since the pandemic began. <strong>It now connects Hispanic\/Latino communities with transportation services, food banks, housing, vaccination and resources for general health and wellness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5ebaa87b7444a1952197782a9b491d95 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">Calling the Resource Center\u2019s hotline was previously the only way to connect with these available resources, but that\u2019s about to change. Now, those in need of information or assistance can also look to the Resource Center\u2019s newly developed chatbot. <strong>By messaging the same number associated with the hotline via WhatsApp, individuals have access to the information they need at the tips of their fingers.<\/strong> This automated messaging service is prepared with the latest up-to-date information on the same services that you would call the hotline for, as well as frequently asked questions about the services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-24834fb4d4e9a6a25d5da606f4cb009a wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">The Resource Center\u2019s automated messaging service is <strong>free<\/strong>, and is equipped to respond in <strong>English, Spanish, and Portuguese<\/strong>. It will be available for use starting March, 25th 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c8070db0b5346978205962e35fc7be6e wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">Reach the Resource Center\u2019s Hotline and WhatsApp Messaging at <a href=\"https:\/\/wa.me\/12026588664\"><strong>(202) 658-8864<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-288473dc5b49688cf59af4b3a91ea433 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">NHCOA\u2019s resource center continues to innovate and develop thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/acl.gov\/\"><strong>Administration for Community Living (ACL<\/strong><\/a>), an organization that holds many of the same values as NHCOA and works with community-oriented organizations to ensure that people have access to the services and resources they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2336c2d5c33bb02183fd583d6f95ceff wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\"><strong>About NHCOA:&nbsp;<\/strong>NHCOA is the leading national organization working to improve the lives of Hispanic older adults, their families, and their caregivers.
