This year\u2019s theme is <strong>Empowering Latinos to Address Health Inequities <\/strong>and will highlight critical health disparities affecting Hispanic\/Latino communities, with a particular focus on obesity, Alzheimer\u2019s disease, cardiovascular conditions, Medicare Advantage, and vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-02500bce8f0b41a4dc22708b8252b41f wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">The briefing will feature <strong>Dr. Yanira Cruz<\/strong>, President &amp; CEO of NHCOA, and <strong>Congressman Raul Ruiz<\/strong>, who will deliver the opening remarks and will be moderated by <strong>Cindy Padilla<\/strong>, former Chairwoman of NHCOA\u2019s Board of Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-14227c98bb33d58fc9bc9ab67fd6dd4a wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">The event will also feature a distinguished panel of speakers including <strong>Sohini Gupta<\/strong>, Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and Innovations at AHIP; <strong>Dr. Ray Serrano<\/strong>, Director of Research and Policy at LULAC; <strong>Tricia Brooks<\/strong>, VP and Head of Office for Government Affairs &amp; Policy at EISAI and <strong>Amy Hinojosa<\/strong>, President &amp; CEO of MANA, A National Latina Organization. The event will conclude with closing remarks by <strong>Robert \u201cBob\u201d Blancato<\/strong>, a member of NHCOA\u2019s Board of Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-14efc1e0f56eb8dab80d0db3eaea8b18 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:15px\">During the briefing, NHCOA will also release the <strong>2024 Status of Hispanic Older Adults Report (SHOAR): Insights from the Field \u2013 Elevating Heart Health Awareness &amp; Advocacy<\/strong>. This report details findings from surveys and focus groups, shedding light on heart health disparities within the Hispanic\/Latino community and offering actionable policy recommendations.
