As Hispanic Heritage Month continues, so too does our celebration of the amazing and admirable role models that make up the Hispanic and Latino American community. This week’s edition of Latino Empowerment features, Celeste Carrasco.
Originally from Argentina, Celeste Carrasco is the Director of Federal Public Affairs for AT&T, a position she has worked incredibly hard for over a career full of experience and professional growth. As AT&T’s Director of Federal Public Affairs, Celeste executes national strategies designed to achieve corporate legislative and regulatory objectives, which includes the management of community partnerships with non-profit organizations who work with the Hispanic and Latino American community. AT&T has made impressive strides in this area, and we can look to folks like Celeste for helping to make such great partnerships possible.
Celeste has remarked the amazing opportunities her position gives her to advocate for issues affecting the Hispanic and Latino community, such as voting rights, economic empowerment, financial education, and immigration. She hopes that the Hispanic and Latino American community will continue to remove barriers to opportunity for generations to come, so that “they can just be themselves, be amazing, and be successful.”
Celeste began her career in undergrad, while attending Rutger’s University as a senior in 1996, as she joined a new team helping to launch AT&T’s Worldnet Dial internet service. Since then, she’s held a variety of roles within the organization, which all led her to the position of leadership and influence that she holds today.
Over the span of her career, Celeste has been recognized for her achievements with such awards as City Year Idealist of the Year in 2015, the herMANA award by the MANA, A National Latina Organization in 2016, and the President’s Volunteer Service Award for many years counting. In fact, Celeste devotes her time and effort far beyond her position, as she offers her perspective as an Advisory Board Member to such entities as the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Latino Coalition, the American Latino Veterans Association (ALVA), and the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation. We are also proud to have her as part of NHCOA’s Business Advisory Council.
Celeste Carrasco has made an undeniable impact on the Hispanic and Latino American community as a leader and an advocate, and she is an excellent example of Latino Empowerment.
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, Celeste!
